ART - with Mrs Connors
Creative!… Engaged!… Enthusiastic!
At Lockington Consolidated School, our Art Room is a much loved space where children feel relaxed, confident, have a lot of fun and can open their mind’s to all things creative. Over their seven years of Primary education children are taught the skills for; drawing and design, painting, printing, collage, model making, construction and textiles / craft. Our students learn these skills through watching, listening, reading, sharing, copying and practicing. By building children’s art skills and knowledge each child becomes more and more independent and able to follow his and her own art passions, creating many, many wonderful artworks.
Our children’s artworks are regularly displayed throughout the school and are viewed with great pride by our students and families. At Lockington Consolidated School Art is a highly valued part of our curriculum which contributes much to our children’s growth and education. We all love Art!

PERFORMING ARTS

In addition to regular classroom based drama and music sessions (often as part of our units of study in Inquiry), we host a whole-school production every second year. All of our students are featured in this extravaganza. Staff work with students across Terms 2 and 3 to prepare songs, dances and scripts which which then culminates with two public performances.
