Health & Physical Education

P.E - with Mr Gray

Here at Lockington Consolidated School, we focus on teaching both health knowledge and movement techniques through games, skills sessions and activities. Our focus is for all students to learn and experience this in a fun, safe, challenging and supportive environment. Students develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to strengthen their sense of self, and build and manage respectful relationships. We also focus on the acquisition of movement skills, concepts and strategies to enable students to participate in a range of physical activities confidently, competently and creatively.

Throughout the year our students are provided with specialist coaching and instruction in particular fields such as tennis, swimming and gymnastics.

Our student are also provided with the opportunity to participate in a range of sports both at the school, inter-school and regional level. Each year we host a fun run (which is used in preparation for the cross country event held in Echuca for Years 3-6 students). Our students also are able to participate in a week long swimming program at the Lockington Pool, with our Year 3-6 students invited to compete in our Swimming Sports. In Term 3, we hold a whole-school athletics carnival for all year levels, once again our students in Years 3 and up are then able to compete against students from other district schools in Echuca.

Students in the senior year levels may also be selected to represent Lockington Consolidated School as part of a team in the sports of netball, football, soccer and basketball.
